- We are a not-for-profit, peer-led Trans and Gender Diverse (TGD) health service - the first and only of its kind in Australia.
- We consult with our TGD Advisory Group to identify service gaps and community needs.
- Where possible, we employ TGD community members and are committed to providing safe, trans-affirmative care.
- Arrive 10 minutes early to avoid rescheduling.

Additional Information
- Appointments with our General Practitioners (GPs) and Endocrinologist, and most pathology fees are bulk billed for Medicare card holders.
- Non–Medicare card holders are charged at the current Medicare rebate schedule rates for consultations and pathology.
- Pathology fees are charged by the pathology lab and your doctor can advise you of the costs prior to the collection.
- We accept card payments for consultations and for pathology fees. All fees are payable on the day of your visit.

Rebates are correct as of 1 July 2026.
Equinox sees patients on an appointment basis. Our standard appointments are 20 minutes long.
- All new patients are booked in for a long appointment (40mins) for their first visit.
- Appointments can be face to face, telephone or tele-video. Telehealth appointments are bulk billed for patients that meet Medicare telehealth eligibility. Reception can provide more details regarding this when you book.
- Emergencies presenting to the clinic will be seen as a priority and our staff will try to contact you if there is any unforeseen delay or if your GP has been called away.
- If you require an interpreter service (a language other than English or services for hearing impaired clients) these can be organised by reception at the time of booking.
After Hours
In the event of an emergency call 000 for an ambulance or present to the nearest emergency department.
If you have an urgent medical problem, please call our locum service, Doctor Doctor on 13 26 60.
Medical advice from a registered nurse is available 24 hours a day by calling Nurse On Call on 1300 60 60 24. They will triage your symptoms and offer advice on how urgently you need to seek medical support.
Home Visits
Home visits are available to known patients of the clinic, who live within 5kms of the service and whose condition prevents them from coming to the clinic. Home visits are available only by arrangement directly with your treating doctor and are entirely at their discretion.
Telephone and Email Access
You can contact your doctor by calling during Equinox service hours. If the doctor is available to talk, your call will be transferred through. If they are not available, the reception staff will take a message and promptly give it the doctor.
Please note that it can take several days for the doctor to return your call. If your matter is of an urgent nature, please tell reception and they will note this on the message.
Emails can be sent to equinox.admin@thorneharbour.org and will be forwarded on to your doctor.
Please be aware that email is not considered a secure method of sending confidential and secure information.
- To comply with ethical and legislative requirements we require that patients attend an appointment to receive prescriptions, referrals and to be given most pathology test results.
- Repeat or replacement prescriptions requested over the phone are provided at the doctor’s discretion and a fee charged.
- Referrals to specialists and third party healthcare providers may result in additional charges, please check with the health provider when booking.
- Pathology results are reviewed and reported promptly. Please note it may take up to 10 business days to receive results.
Getting to Equinox
- We are located at 200 Hoddle Street, Abbotsford.
- Time limited street parking is available on Hoddle St and in the surrounding neighbourhood.
- The clinic is a five minute walk from Victoria Park Train station and bus services running down Hoddle Street that stop a few metres from our clinic.
Disability Access
- Our clinic, including the consult rooms, is wheelchair accessible, has accessible bathrooms facilities and has an electric height adjustable bed.
Records of your visits and treatments will be kept. The contents will be divulged only with your consent or where justified by law. You are entitled to see your medical records at any stage. Your medical records are a confidential document and Centre Clinic maintains the security of personal information at all times.
Our services are bound by the Health Records Act 2001, the Privacy Act 1988 (Commonwealth - incorporating the Privacy Amendment (Enhancing Privacy Protection) Act 2012) and the Privacy & Data Protection Act 2014 (Victoria) regarding the collection, use, disclosure, access and protection of any personal or health information that we hold.
