Why do LGBTIQA+ people need a dedicated service?
LGBTIQA+ people can have specific needs when it comes to alcohol and other drugs. Alcohol and drugs are often part of social and community spaces, and experiences such as minority stress, HIV or gender-affirming hormone therapy can affect how people use substances and the support they need. Speaking with someone who understands these experiences can help you access tailored information and care.
