Our Approach

Cervical screening is recommended for anyone who:

  • Has a cervix
  • Is aged 25 to 74
  • Has ever had any kind of sexual contact (including non-penetrative sex)

With self-collection options, screening is quick, private, and puts you in control.

Cervical screening often isn't designed with our communities in mind, and that can put people off. Our peer-led team are trained to make screening straightforward and judgement-free, whoever you are.

FAQs

Common questions about cancer screening.

Cervical screening is recommended every 5 years for anyone with a cervix aged 25–74, regardless of gender identity.

You can take the sample yourself using a small swab, in private. It only goes a short way into your vagina/front-hole and takes a minute or two. If you'd prefer, a clinician can take the sample for you instead. We'll send it to a lab to check for HPV, and contact you with your results.

Yes, because the vaccine doesn't protect against every type of HPV that causes cancer.

No. Self collection is free for everyone and open to new and existing clients.

For people who don't have medicare and need a clinician-collected sample, costs may apply.
