What is the Research Endorsement Panel?
Our Research Endorsement Panel (REP) promotes a research agenda to benefit people living with HIV and LGBTIQA+ communities. It includes staff, members from our organisation, and experts from the community.
The Panel:
- Offers guidance on research proposals and the sensitivities of our constituent communities to a range of projects.
- Reviews any research proposal that would like our involvement.

In 2021, the Australian Bureau of Statistics has released an updated standard for the collection and dissemination of data relating to sex, gender, variations of sex characteristics and sexual orientation. This is available online for use by other government, academic and private sector organisations in their own statistical collections to improve the comparability and quality of data.
Active Research
Take part in any of these studies we've endorsed. Participation is sometimes paid, and all the data helps us improve health services for LGBTIQA+ communities and people living with HIV.

Race and Sexuality
Are you LGBQ+ and a person of colour?
You are invited to participate in a confidential interview about your understanding and experiences of sexual orientation, race and wellbeing.
Interviews are online, 60 minutes, in English, and private/confidential.
This project has been approved by La Trobe University’s Human Research Ethics Committee (HEC26107).

Gonorrohoea Vaccine
Share your perferences on a potential gonorrhoea vaccine.
There is currently no approved vaccine for gonorrhoea. This survey asks about a hypothetical vaccine, to find our what matters most to you when deciding whether or not to get a vaccine.
Gay Cis Men
CURE-NG
In this study, participants will be exposed to this specific strain of gonorrhoea via a throat swab. The study team will follow the course of the infection to learn how the body’s immune system reacts to it.
Potential participants are (assigned male at birth) aged between 18 – 50 years old, who have sex with men (assigned male at birth) - and not with women - and are in good health, with no chronic medical conditions.
