Peer Education Workshops

Peer education workshops are guided by casual discussions and activities about topics like self-esteem, representation, coming out, relationships, community, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, HIV stigma, and general sexual health.

What is peer education?

We know how important it is to feel deeply understood. Our peer education workshops are led by members of our communities. They provide a safe space where you can learn and grow alongside others who understand your experience.

Our peer education workshops are:

  • free
  • run by trained members of our communities
  • interactive, social, and dynamic
  • safe spaces for discussion, self-expression, and sharing stories
  • for people over the age of 18

The workshops are not:

  • counselling sessions
  • group therapy

If you're seeking mental health support, please head to our Mental Health service page.

Past participants in our workshops have:

  • improved their self-esteem and confidence
  • become more comfortable with their gender identity and sexuality
  • made new friends and gained a sense of community
  • improved their communication and conflict resolution skills
  • broken down the stigma around HIV

Yes. Our volunteer facilitators are members of our communities who have been trained to run activities, encourage participation, and facilitate discussion.
